Pickup coil/magnetized distributor shaft.
bad module
This is a basic ignition system. The computer is not needed to create spark. A good pick up coil and a new distributor shaft will produce over one volt of AC voltage at a normal cranking speed to tell the module when to ignite the coil.
Verify there is ignition power to the ignition coil and distributor during cranking. Use a test light from Battery positive to coil negative, check for a blinking test light while cranking. If the test light does not blink, disconnect the pickup coil from the module. Verify the pickup produces at least 500 mV of AC voltage during cranking. Use a volt meter set to AC volts . If it does not, replace the pick up coil and the distributor shaft. If it does, replace the module.
