Answer

hi, the heater hoses can be disconnected at the fire wall ,if you want to you can plug off the hoses that go to the heater core,do this when the engine has not been run and is cold, attach a water hose (or hold the hose) to one of the heater tubes at the fire wall and turn the water and let it flush for 10 minutes or so then do it on the opposite heater tube

Calibration of the electronic climate control (ECC) module occurs whenever B+ is removed and then restored to the ECC module. During this calibration process the ECC module will automatically command the temperature door to the full HEAT position and then to full COLD position. The ECC module records both positions and uses this data to determine temperature door settings based on customer selected temperature settings.

Important: Do not select or use the scan tool HVAC menu during the ECC module calibration period or the ECC module will not calibrate properly.

If the ECC module has been interrupted by removing the battery the temperature door might become inoperative. If this should occur then:

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Remove the RDO BATT fuse for 10 seconds and then reinstall the fuse.
  3. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position and wait 40 seconds for the ECC module to initialize( this is only if the battery was removed) the heater control valve (air temperture valve actuator) is located on the right side of the dash here is the removal procedure, this is only if you cant hear a change in air flow when you turn the heater from cold to hot,;The temperature valve actuator is located on the front of the heater case.

    1. Remove the right side instrument panel sound insulator.
    2. Remove the instrument panel storage compartment.
    3. Disconnect the passenger side Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system.
    4. Remove the lower right instrument panel mounting bolt.
    5. Remove the left and right speaker grilles.
    6. Remove the windshield defroster grille retaining screws.
    7. Remove the windshield defroster grille.
    8. Remove the center instrument panel sound insulator.
    9. Remove the left side instrument panel sound insulator.
    10. Remove the knee bolster.
    11. Remove the lower left instrument panel mounting bolt.
    12. Remove the Body Control Module (BCM) .
    13. Disconnect the driver side SIR.
    14. Remove the instrument panel cluster.
    15. Remove the radio.
    16. Remove the HVAC control assembly.
    17. Remove the knee deflector.
    18. Remove the steering column retaining nuts.
    19. Lower the steering column.
    20. Remove the instrument panel carrier.
    21. Remove the temperature valve actuator retaining screws.
    22. Remove the temperature valve actuator.......also check to see if there is enough coolant(level) in the system ...guy
