Question

6 month old female bull dog has started throwing up a red gel like substance? What could it be what should we do?

This just started late Friday. On Friday it had some grass in it so we cleaned the mess and thought it was something she ate. However it is happening frequently 6 or 7 times. We do not have alot of money for a visit to the vet. What could it be and what can we do?

If you are seeing red in the vomit and have not fed any red treats this may be blood you are seeing. If that is the case it may be from swallowing a non food item or from an infection with parasites or bacteria.

She really should see a vet.

An over the counter med you might try would be Pepcid or Tagamet or Zantac.

Be sure to tell the vet when you see them if you use any of these.
