Question

My 4 yr old son has about a dozen or so small hard skin colored blister-like bumps under his arm. There are two more isolated bumps on the side of his torso. All of the bumps are on the right side of his body only, and did not break when I scraped them gently with my finger nail. They range in size from 1 to 3 mm. The surrounding skin appears normal. There is no crusts or oozing. What could it be? Shingles? Warts? How do I treat it?

The bumps on his arm are extremely similar to this photo. Some are reddish like these. Some are paler and more skin colored.

Thanks for getting back to me.
The lesions in the picture I sent you are molluscum contagiosum. This is a commons virus that is spread from skin to skin contact.

The best course of action it to allow the lesions to heal on their own.
With children this can be hard, due to the fact they will touch, and spread the virus. The over the counter wart medication can be used, however they may or may not remove the wart.
There are several courses of treatment other than surgical removal Scraping, curettage, Freezing (cryotherapy) and laser therapy all work very well.
