Question

Hi, Just had my inlet manifold replaced (E46 320D 2002 150 BHP) as it's done 133k miles and feared swirl flap ingestion. Power is now down a good 50% especially when accelerating in any gear. The mechanic produced a fault code P0237 'Charger Boost Sensor A circuit Low'. Do you think he's incorrectly reconnected an electrical cable or vacuum hose?

Hello and Welcome to justanswer..

This is a possibility - but its virtually unheard off - these jobs usually go very smoothly with no problems at all..

You will need to physically check for that - check to see if the pipe routing etc "looks" right - you can often see if its not "normal"... then try them different if it looks to be the case..

Its also possible that he's left a bolt out of the manifold - or the gasket for the manifold has got twisted / messed up... its a possibility that if all else will have to be checked out..

But make sure all the electrical connectors etc are on properly - that he hasn't left anything off - or knocked something while doing the job..

Lastly - its possible that there is a fault with the new manifold itself..with the flaps sticking - something like that ...its always best to check them before fitting - I dont know if he did that or not- but it is a possibility..even with a new one..

Work through as above and you will get there... but check all everything else around the engine / manifold first thoroughly before opting to remove it again to check the other items mentioned..

I Sincerely hope I have helped you - Please ask me if you need more help...

Kind Rgds, MIKE
