Answer

Hi,

Thanks for using JustAnswer.

I would get him a psychology text book and let him begin reading through it. There is alot to learn and he could begin there.

I would also suggest he volunteer with mental health patients if possible. I would start by calling your local community mental health clinic and seeing if they have any volunteer positions for teenagers. He may not be able to do alot of direct care but he may be able to start learning some from there. Voluntering at a homeless shelter will also get him a lot of experience in talking to those with mental health issues where he can begin builiding his skills and seeing some of the disorders in real life.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist anymore, I am here to provide you with a satisfactory answer!
