Question

my cat is 11. she has irritable bowel syndrome. they wanted to operate to see if she had lymphoma. Now after surgery 3 days ago she has very low blood pressure. she is on two medications to raise her pressure, they worked, then they took her off the medications and her pressure was very low again, so they put her back on the medications. she is in very critical condition. what could have happened. she was o.k. before.

Hello,
I am sorry to hear about this concern.
Very unusual. To have a persistently LOW blood pressure is not really consistent with surgical complications or older cats. If anything, they tend to have hypertension, usually do to thyroid problems.

Therefore, I must strongly recommend you request your vet to give you a referral to an internal medicine specialist, where all the drugs, surgery notes, tests, etc...can be interpreted for an explanation of what happened.

Additional concerns include if there is heart disease that has not been evaluated or diagnosed. A heart with poor contractility due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (common) is a possible explanation.
Diagnosis by listen for heart murmurs, x-rays to look at the size and shape of the heart, and/or heart ultrasound (echocardiogram)

Good Luck
