Question

Replaced hydraulic master cylinder and slave cylinder for clutch. Did a bench bleed on master cylinder and think I have the air out. Clutuch pedal still on floor and NO depression on throwout bearing. What does the little block by clutch master cylinder do? Where do I go from here?

Already Tried:
Slave cylinder was leaking. Replaced slave cylinder. Could not get the clutch pedal to come back. Setterment in master cylinder, so I replaced it. Bench bleed the master cylinder for the clutch. Bleed air from littl device on firewall that leads to slave cylinder. Believe I have bled the slave cylinder. Clutch prdal Still on floor. Tha slave cylinder is up to the point of putting pressure on throwout bearing and MOVES no further. Like there is a pressure relief somewhere. Where do I go from here?

i personally i would take them both back and have them give you new ones and install them, its pretty much the only thing that can be causing this.

My concern was I do not know what the flow thru device on the left fender is and/or what role it plays in the clutch system

Not exactly. line from master cylinder in from the lower part, a bleeder screw at the top, the line to the slave higher than the incoming line with a 4 bolt cover. I removed the cover to expose. Inside a grommet that fits on a plunger type device. All I know

it sounds similiar the damper though is only supposed to be on v6 models though

What effect does the damper have on the system

Pressure relief? Does it impact bleeding the system?

the damper absorbs some of the pressure when you release the clutch quickly, to keep the clutch from engaging sharply.

Can the damper keep the pressure from building up at the slave cylinder?

Can the damper go bad?

yes and yes if for some reason that it has gotten a blockage it can, have you tried bleeding it at the bleeder screw at the damper?

have you checked/bled it on the truck at the slave cylinder to make sure youre getting fluid to the slave cylinder?

Yes. With the clutch pedel depressed I have pushed the slave cylinder closed while bleeding out any air. Then with the slave cylinder still fully closed had someone continiously pump the clutch pedel while holding the slave. After many, many, many pumps on the clutch pedal the slave cylinder will push up to the throwout bearing fork BUT will push NO further.

not sure then that youve bled it properly, your supposed to have someone pump the clutch pedal then hold it. then open the bleeder, much like bleeding brakes.

Understand. BUT when you push on the clutch pedal it stays on the floor. NEVER any back pressure

i understand i wonder still if its possible that you just got bad parts as i have never had this happen when replaceing clutch slave and master cylinders.
