Question

I am a new contractor, trying to figure out what to charge for hanging, tape and texture. I have a 700 sq ft room to do. I did my own house and i like to do it. I live in north dakota, any idea what the going rate is. I'd like to make some money without ripping any body off

Answer

Hi XXXXXXXXXX
The going rate varies quite a bit from one part of the country to another. We don't have any experts from your area so no one here can give you an accurate answer. Your best bet is to call local drywall contractors, tell them you are putting a budget together for a customer and need a typical per square foot price for hanging and finishing drywall.

will do that. what is the lowest you know of and the highest

Accepted Answer

I do work in suburban Boston so our rates are likely to be (much?) higher. My dry waller typically charges $1.50/ft. That's what he covers not square footage of the room (floor space).
