Customer Question

I have an AD50DSR1 Whirlpool dehumidifier. The fan will run but the compressor will not come on. The fan will run on continuous run and also will shut off when you turn it down so I assume the humidistat switch is working. It is clean and no debris in the fins. Float switch works fine also when depressed.

Take unit apart and see if you are getting voltage to the compressor. You will need a test light or a voltmeter; I cannot tell you how to use them- you'll need some ability of your own to help resolve the issue.

Made sure float switch is working, It is totally clean and unobstructed in coils. Blew everything out anyway. No wiring issues that I can see. The defrost sensor is in tact and I see no problems there. There is no leakage on any of the condensor tubes.
