Hello;
Thank you for writing in today. I want to provide you with the best possible information, but I do have a few questions. I hope you understand.
How are you feeling since the Clonopin?
Any other medications not mentioned?
Do you have a history of panic attacks?
Has anything been bothering you today?
Have you noticed yourself breathing rapidly today?
Please let me know.
Lisa
Thank you for responding.
The symptoms of tingling around the mouth and lightheadedness can be from hyperventilating, often associated with anxiety or panic attacks. However, this sounds like it is different from the panic attacks you have had in the past. Therefore, at this point, there are a couple of things that may be most likely. First of all, blood pressure would be a concern. However, and possibly most likely, this could be due to an inner ear issue. Problems with the inner ear can actually cause this lightheadedness with movement. Inner ear disorders cause vertigo. Since you recently had an issue with your ear, it is quite possible that you have developed an inner ear complication. At this point, if your symptoms do not improve, I would recommend calling the on-call provider or seeking care. If you do seek care, you may want to consider an Urgent care clinic. Urgent care usually has a lower co-pay and shorter wait.
I hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask.
I do think your ear needs to be evaluated. When you use the water flush yourself at home, there is a risk of perforating the ear drum or causing worse impaction or infection. You need your ear evaluated for these possible complications. I think this is most likely an ear issue. There is a thing in medicine where we say look for horses not zebras. The most obvious horse here is the ear :)
