Hello,

No. Not quick, and we have to be careful.

The most common causes for diarrhea at this age include:

1. intestinal parasites (not just worms, but the microscopic bugs like giardia and coccidia. very common)

2. viral disease (parvo virus). Even if vaccinated

3. dietary indiscretion (ate something you do not know about)

4. diet changes and/or too many new treats

Definitely, I would schedule a vet examination and get some supportive care, as puppies can become quickly dehdyrated.

Bring in a fresh poop sample to the veterinarian. Ideally, within a few hours. Request that it be sent "OUT" to the laboratory instead of being looked at in the hospital (more accurate that way). We are not interested in only worm eggs, but also checking for the very common microscopic bugs like giardia and coccidia. These types of parasites will not be cured with over-the-counter medications or dewormers.

Good Luck

Dr. Andy
