Hiya,
Can you post the model number of the appliance please?
Is it a grinding noise?
Is the noise from the front or rear of the appliance?
Thanks
The most likely cause of noise is from the bearings.
The early machines used wheels on the front which were incredibly noisy when they went and the rear bearing wears out too.
If your machine has the wheels at the front then it will need a conversion kit, basically consists of new front bearing pads.
It really depends on what has gone. It could be a costly repair.
Other causes of vibration are the fans break or the motor becomes noisy.
Unplug the appliance and take the top off.
Turn the drum by hand and see if you can narrow down the source of the noise.
Check the front and rear bearings, check to see if the drum has dropped at the back.
Check these out, let me know what you find.
Hope this is of some help. Once you let me know what you've found I'll see what can be done next to help.

Call them out, have a load of laundry ready for drying and when they fix it, give them a cup of tea while you load the dryer and test it.
Move the dryer back into it's normal position first.
If there's any rumbling or grinding don't accept the repair.
Good luck with the repair.
