cayenne 2005 porsche shuts down after turning the car on. When I tap on the gas tank, and i turn the car on it works. there are no warning lights indicating a problem. Could you explain what is happening?

Already Tried:
My car shuts off 30 to 50 seconds after turning it on. By Tapping the gas tank lightly seems to make it work. After this I turn the car back on and it runs. It seems to be happening randomly at this point. Like I said, there are no warning lights going on.

THIS IS A COMMON INDICATION OF A BAD FUEL PUMP , IT IS A BAD SPOT ON THE FUEL PUMP ARMATURE AND WHEN YOU TAP ON IT IT FREES UP AND STARTS TO PUMP AGAIN

I really dont understand what you mean? What do I need to do? What do you mean by a bad spot on the fuel pump armature?

about how much is a fuel tank for this type of car? Im in NY. Sorry Im a girl, so I dont know and I dont want to go to a place and be taken advantage of.

THE PUMPS ARE MOUNTED INSIDE THE TANK AND IS REPLACED SEPERATE FROM THE TAKE

THE JOB TAKES ABOUT 2 HOURS AND THERE 2 PUMPS WHICH COST APPROX 275.00 EACH SO I WOULD EXPECT LIKE 750- 850 AS A COST
