Can being on ARD Probation stop you from joining the military?

Answer

This depends on the most part what the charges that sent you to probation were.

AS a former Army First Sergeant, I can tell you that recruiters will still recruit you if you have completed the probation if the reason you were there was not drugs.

If it was drugs and you can show rehabilitation, you can still get a waiver and be enlisted.

There is no gaurantee a request for a recruitment waiver will be successful. IT is a discretionary use of command decision making at recruiting command for the area you are in. Some grant them and some do not. I can say that when recruitig goals are not being met, the recruiters get a bit more free with the waivers.

You will not be able to join while on probation. It has to be finished.
