Hiya,
This sounds like the fault you would get on a Servis washing machine.
Is this a Servis washing machine?
If it is, how old is it?
Thanks
OK, thanks for that.
Unfortunately Servis went bust last year and all their technical web site went with them.
Having said that, there are common faults on these appliances and most are with the electronics.
Unplug the appliance, take the top and the rear panels off.
At the top right or bottom rear right will be a pcb (control board).
Take the control board out and check the connections are secure and tight.
Look for any signs of physical damage or burning.
Pull the plugs off and put them back on again.
Reassemble the appliance and try again.
Hope this helps
Let me know how it goes

OK, no problem.
I'll be out all day tomorrow but should be online later in the evening.
OK, thanks for letting me know.
It's definitely possible, the only worrying part is the spin light that flickers.
With there being no damage to the pcb then the next stage is to check the door lock.
Unplug the appliance, open the door and take the door seal retainer off.
Peel the door seal off the front panel, take the screws out of the door lock and bring the door lock out the port hole.
Let me know what the wiring is, is it a plug or 3 seperate wires?
Make a note of there the wires fit.
Take the two outside ones off, join them together temporarily and insulate them.
Refit the door lock and door seal, try the machine again.
To be honest, I would recommend replace instead of repair.
Servis are not the best machine in the world, the electronics on them are weak and you could spend a lot money repairing this one.
I think you'll find that the problem with your machine is the electronics.
Only you can really decide on repair or replace.
Good luck, whatever you decide.
