Optional Information

Year: 2008
Make: Saab
Model: 93SS Aero
Engine: Petrol

Already Tried:
Dynamic wheel balancing, wheel geometry checked.

I upgraded to sports suspension (yellow koni). Then vibration problem surfaced above 100 kph. Prior to the yellow koni, I did have the same problem with spacers on. then i did dynamic wheel balancing and problem solved. but now, after going to three wheel balancing jobs, problem did not go.

Answer

It can be a hubcentric issue. But you can do somethings to help that as well. What you need to have done is a road force balance. Have the shop measure the high spots of the tires, and match mount them. That will help, then mount the high spots down before tightening the lugs. That way any slop on the hub will be compenstaed by the high spot of the tire. We have to do it on Astons commonly, and it can be a pain. The spacers can cause issues themselves, but I suspect that proper balance and match m ount will help tremendously. You may need to have a race shop do the work.

as i mentioned earlier, prior to my changing of shocks, i had spacers, same problem and went for dynamic balancing and the problem's gone.

after i changed my shock and redo the wheel geometry, did dynamic wheel balancing, the problem returned and did not go away. do you think the guy did not do a good job changing the shocks and causing this problem?

also, i do not understand some of the terms you used, such as road force balance.

thanks.

Shocks should have nothing to do with the vibration. Road force balancing is a type of balancing used in high performance vehicles. We use it on Aston Martins and Ferrari's. You need to to ask you mechanic if they have a road force balancer. They should know what it is. It tests the sidewall integrity so that the hight spots had be handled.
