Question

Hi I have a 2002 grand prix with a leaking skylight. How hard is it to change the gasket? I'm pretty handy and just want to understand what I'm in for and if any special tools are required.

Thanks.

Welcome to just answer. The gasket around the glass or the gasket around on the roof. It is not that hard. You can go to any auto paint or auto parts store they should have some weatherstripping in stock and then put some caulk or seam seal for the weatherstrip cut what you need and replace. Put some masking tape around the edges and let sit for a couple of hours then take off tape and clean the seam sealer around the edges and your good as new.
If you need anything else just let me know. If you accept this hit the green payment tab. Thank you.

Okay thanks. Looking more closely the only gasket on this car is around the glass. It appears the strip sticks to the top of the glass and just wraps around. The gasket just gets compressed against the inside roof edge. To me this looks like I'd need to use an OEM gasket and possibly some adhesive? I can post oa picture if you need it.

Well there are aftermarket strips available it is not really made per say by volvo but yes get the caulk and just put enough in the middle of the strip and make sure you tape it up good for a couple of hours.
