you need to find out where leak is coming from.
the temp is fine. most common area is the vave cover gaskets. If you had the oil ghanged lately you might want to check oil drain plug area.
just remember that the oil is the life blood of
your engine.

Reply to Ben Holden's Post: yes I changed the oil lately and the oil filter was loose but I replaced it and oil is continuing to leave oil spots and smell of oil burning two weeks past the oil change. I had just bought the car and it was running at up to 226'f at times and the cadillac 4.6 is crammed and I herd about case halfs and was wondering if this engine had them or if oil pan gaskets leaks are common for this engine thank you dan

yes very common,sometimes you can just tighten the covers more but not too much.how much oil is consummed in a weeks time.
