Question

My Mazda RX8, 2006 has gone through 4 alternators, and has stalled out three times. No one has been able to find the cause. I am afraid to take it on long trips anymore, and it only has about 18,000 mi.

Hi,i am going to try to help you today,i have seen this problem before on mazda, and there turns out to be a short in the wiring harness leading to the alternator, the harness test fine when tested for some reason. But while the car is driving is when the short occurs, mechanics can test it all day long but for some reason is does not test bad,but my suggestion is to replace the harness to keep you from replacing alternators, hope this helps.
