Question

I use Quickbooks and it automatically pulls my credits and debits from my bank account so book keeping is a snap for me so I never needed an accountant. My problem is my bank is requesting a 6 month business financial statement which I easily supplied using Quickbooks but they will not accept my financials since I am not a certified accountant.

What should it cost to get a financial statement from a CPA?

Answer

Dear Friend,

An average CPA should cost you anywhere between $125 to $150 / hour.

Accountants charge $150-$400 or more an hour, depending on the type of work, the size of the firm and its location. You'll pay lower rates for routine work done by a less-experienced associate or lesser-trained employee, such as $30-$50 for bookkeeping services.

For a simple start-up, expect a minimum of 0.5-1.5 hours of consultation ($75-$600) to go over your business structure and basic tax issues. Generally monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements are prepared by a bookkeeper or someone using accounting software, but it can take 0.5-1.5 hours ($75-$600) for an accountant to review these reports looking for trends or discrepancies, and to interpret them, giving advice on future actions.

Are there any CPA online that can do this for less? My local accountants want betwteen $300 to $500 an hour to come in any discuss this simple request.

Accepted Answer

Dear Friend,

I am sorry but you will have to take this to local accountants. There are no known firms who would do this work online.

Even if you manage to send work online to a larger firm, the costs would be roughly the same..

I hope the above helps...
