I have a 10 old year gas hot water boiler system that provides heat for my 8000 sq. ft building (all open space with 14ft cielings) I want to know what is the most economical way to operate this system. Should I at the end of each day turn the system off to save money or should I just turn the system down at the end of the day and still heat the building through the night? I hve been told different things some say to turn it off at the end of the day to keep gas costs down while others say to leave it on a lower setting during cold nights because turning if off allows everything inside the building to get cold and the system then has to run a longer period when you turn back on the sytem the next day.

I have a hot water boiler system that heats my 8000 sq. ft. building (open building with 14 ft. cielings) Is it more cost efficient to turn the heat off at the end of each day then reheat it again in the morning? or should I just turn it down, and if you think I should just turn it down what temp. should I turn it to when I am not in the building. Winter outside temps where I live are often in the upper 30's to 40's during the overnight. I usually keep the thermostat at 62o
during the day.
