Question

My 7yr old child accidently dropped the newborn kitten that I have been caring for, I didn't know he had her. He dropped her on our lamenated floor. Will she be okay, or should I take her into the vet as soon as the office opens? She appears to be okay. She is breathing fine and she is eating okay also. She only 6 days old and my son is still crying, afraid she will die. She is very tiny only weighing 56 grams, the vet saw her yesterday because she also isn't gaining any weight. Her mother abandoned her at birth.   Thank you for your help.

Just keeping an eye on her and making sure that she is still moving and breathing. Also checking to make sure that there is no blood anywhere (there isn't) She appears to still be moving well for her size and age.

Hi there XXXXXXXXXXX,

Thank you for your question regarding your tiny kitten who has been dropped on a lamenated floor. This is definitely concerninga and you really do need to keep a close eye on her right now. If she seems more lethargic than usual, has a limp, seems to be breathing faster than usual or seems to be in pain, then definitely get her down to your local Vet or ER vet asap. Hopefully nothing at all has happened, but depending on how she landed she could have potentially fractured a bone or hurt her head!

So long as she is still walking around, meowing, breathing normally and eating and drinking then she most likely has come out of this unharmed - but as I say any signs of an abnormality and get her down to your Vet asap.

I hope this helps and do keep me posted on her progress won't you.
