My daughter tends to have her period late every month. About 1 week late. He breasts always are tender somewhat near her period, but every month the tenderness increases. Also, he private part has an odor like she is on her period, but she is not even close to it..What could this be???

Hello,
For young women in their teens and 20's it is very common to have irregular periods: they might be on time, early, late and even spotting. The usual treatment is with birth control pills - lose dose monophasic pills. I even go a step further and would suggest that perhaps she might want to use a pill like seasonique or seasonal such that she will have a period once every 3 months. I put many of my young patients on the plan and they absolutely love it. I hope this helps, take care.

This is a possibility if she has been having intercourse and the only way to tell is with a pregnancy test. I hope this helps, take care.
