Question

We have two male dogs who absolutly love each other. They are less than two years of age. We do not see any reason for neutering either as they do not exhibit any problems what so ever. Removing testosterone from the body has many disadvantages, in particular bone density, joints and other developmental considerations. We would like to research this more but are finding it difficult to locate a web site that isn't completly slanted in the other direction. Can you help?
Also, our dogs eat RAW which has been a challenge since we are vegetarians. Often we will purchase Urban Carniboure which is pricey but very convenient (simply thaw and serve). Do you have any concerns about this product?

We think our "boys" are particularly outstanding (what owner/parent doesn't) and there are no behavioral problems. They love agility and we work with them almost every day just for fun (one at a time). They share our home and business in such a way that the four of us are almost never apart. They are attentive, unbelievably kind, and thrive in their environment. Patrick and Morgan make us laugh. Why should we take an important hormone out of their body?

Dear Teri,

I am glad your boys are doing so well.I am sure they ARE very Outstanding!

Dogs are very similar to children. More important than neutering is the way they are raised. You have done an exemplary job with Patrick and Morgan. You are a wonderful pack leader and doggie parent which is why your boys shine.

Most websites talk about agression as a reason to neuter. You do not have any of that. The other most common reason to fix is the threat of testicular cancer. But that fear IMO is not sufficient to risk surgery for your boys.

Many dogs that are used for breeding are kept whole with no adverse effects.

Urban Carnivore has a five star rating which indicates it is a superior food:

So just keep up the fabulous work with your boys. Their health and personalities speak volumes.

Please let me know if you wish to discuss this further.

Warmest best wishes,

Terri
