Hello,
We are always concerned when a dog takes a fall onto hard surfaces, but its more a monitor situation then a emergency situation. While a fall can cause some serious problems, the fact is this is not always the case.
Since he seems fine and is eating and drinking at this point I would suggest monitoring him for the next 24 hours to ensure there are no problems from the fall. Should he begin displaying any of the following symptoms or just not seem right then you will want to get him in to see his vet.
Uncontrollable vomiting or diarrheaBlood in the stool or vomitExcessive droolingAbnormally rapid breathingIncreased heart rateAnxietyDazed or confused actionsSeizures.I am not trying to scare you with the above symptoms, and it is unlikely he will have a problem but I believe that knowledge is power and knowing what to watch for in a unlikely event is always a good idea.Walter
