how easy would it be for an amateur with a lift to change a fuel pump on a 2004 jetta?

Already Tried:
The dealer told me it was the engine speed sensor and the battery fuse box then after wasting hours of my time and my money they tell me it's the fuel pump and i don't want to give them another cent.

Hi,

 

Below are directions for replacing the fuel pump. There is an access cover under the trunk floor cover. Remove it and then remove the access cover. The special tool shown to loosen the fuel pump is available at most parts stores, but you should be able to use a large set of channel locks instead:
