Question

I am considering the purchase of a 2002 volkswagon beatle with 95,000 miles. My brother in law says that volkswagons have a timing belt that needs replaced at 100,000 miles and this costs around 700.00. Is that true?

That is true the timing belt should be done now, they will break due to the age of the vehicle even before 100k.
I recommend doing it as soon as possible. Also if it is an automatic I wouldn't evem buy it. These auto transmissions
fail very often.
