Info Request

Hi XXXXXXX;

Ok Im a bit confused here. Are you saying that the trees were left at a point that is lower than the rest of your back yard? And have now rotted away leaving a hole to be filled in?

If you could explain your situation a bit more I would appreciiate it,

Thank you

yes that is correct. my whole back yard is very low in that particular area and we have electric lines underground also gas lines in our subdivision in which we will have to call about before we do anything.

Ok thank you.

The concern for the gas and electrical lines is not something you need worry about if all you are doing is filling in the low points of your back yard.

The only time you need a USA (underground systems annalisys) is if you intend to dig.

You dont need to dig to fill in.

As for your drainage concerns add a 6" layer of railroad rock to the bottom of the filled in area any you are good to go. This will help prevent the fill area from becomming a swamp.

Any other water will run off just like the rest of your back yard. You will want to place the dirt in the filled area so that any run off goes to the same point that your back yard drains to presently.

One thing you can not do is make it so that the runoff from your back yard begins to flow onto another property (unless it is yours of course). It must drain to the street or towards a natural runoff point such as a creek or culvert.

Other than this all you need is some dirt.

Best, THS
