What proof do I need to provide to my physician in order to substantiate a stress leave? I have been seeing a psychologist for over a year regarding my work issues to no avail and now my benefits have run out. Is having a workers comp issue like this going to impede my chances for future positions with other companies? Can I be terminated in California, I am a key employee, while on leave?

Already Tried:
I cooperate fully with the Office Manager, who is causing me the stress. Problem is, she is the owner's girlfriend and we have not gotten along since she started 3 years ago - she sets up "mistakes" and provides her version of events, I have tried to talk to him and he admittedly says he is not the one I need to convince. He knows me, I have worked for him for almost 11 years in a key position, the HR Manager, and have run his business when he is out of town on several occasions. I have documentation but he has to "back her up" so he claims I am being insubordinate. All of my evaluations are stellar - she is jealous and I can't compete with that.

You need to see a neuro-psychologist and have him/her perform a neurological examination which will establish stress levels, sleeplessness and other neurological problems.
