Question

ipod interface with 2010 Lexus Rx350. I connect using USB port in car and get A meesage on ipod that says do not disconnect. Should be getting ipod screen on in dash csreen.

Already Tried:
Used cable from ipod to connect to USB port inconsole of car and ipod as directed in the Lexus user manual.

It is an older ipod (NANO). At least 3 years old.

That explains it.
Withot getting too technical I have run into this on many model Lexus, Toyota and Scion vehicles, I have also discussed this in length with Toyota's technical service department on several models, what we have found is the the first generation Ipods worked well with the first generation Radios that had this inferface (2005-2007), the newer radios and AUX ports are a little different, the newer ones will not read the older Ipods. What I suggest is to get your hands on a new ipod from a friend/neighbor/relative and test it on your vehicle, what I think that you will find here is that the newer ipod will work normally with your new RX and the old one will not and this will confirm that you simply need to update to a new ipod.
