Question

My 7 1/2 year old ferret has lost a lot of weight recently. The area from her anus to her genitals is red and swollen. She hasn't used the bathroom much within the last 3 days and she's not eating or drinking that much either. She hasn't shed much fur...it's just her appetite and bathroom habbits that have waned....any ideas

Accepted Answer

Ok, thanks for the info. You need to have her seen by your vet soon. This sounds like she may have adrenal disease. This is not uncommon and most often occurs in ferrets years or older. I am sending you a link that goes into more detail and what can be done. I hope it helps.
