Hi,

If you have 2GB in it, that is it

This laptop ships with its maximum supported RAM, which is 2GB.

So if you are trying to add more it won't take it.

See this crucial site for details.

Thanks, and wish I had better news.

Please accept, this is the correct answer

What I said is it wont access the card that is in slot 1. There is a 1GB card in each of the 2 slots, when I check it does not give me a value for slot1. It also shows only 1GB of RAM in computer properties. What I need is how to get it to access the other card AS I STATED.

Answer

OK,

That is crystal clear, Thank You.

If the memory in slot 0 is recognized, then pull the chip out of slot 0 and put it aside. Take the chip from slot 1 and put it in slot zero and leave slot 1 empty.

If it boots ok, the chip is fine.

Now without pulling the existing chip, put the original slot 0 chip in slot 1.

If it still shows 1GB, then the memory slot #1 is defective.

There is no hardware disable/enable of individual memory slots.

Sound logical?
