I was downloading garmin 2010 north american update,and I got the blue screen of death and now my computer will not run windows at all. Tom

Thanks for your question.
Follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem.

restart your computer in safe mode and do a restore. The instructions on how to restart in safe mode are given at this link.

System restore process restores your computer to a previous date.. So if you didnt have this problem few days ago this should solve the problem.. System restore can be undone if needed. Its advisable to first backup the files.

To restore the system to a previous date follow these steps.
For XP: Go to START then ALL PROGRAMS then ACCESSORIES then SYSTEM TOOLS then SYSTEM RESTORE then restore my computer to an earlier date.
