Question

I am having issues with my power antenna on my 2000 Diamante. I can hear the motor running but the antenna doesn't rise. The radio plays due to the inlay on the back window but it is very statickey. I am an old female who grew up on a farm and I like to do what I can. I at one time did my on tune ups before the all the computer parts. Any help or sugestions would be appreciated

Hello, what you're going to need to do is replace the antenna assembly, which should be held in place with two bolts and the antenna ring, just pull back the carpet in the trunk, disconnect the electrical connector, disconnect the antenna coax, unbolt the antenna motor assembly from the body, remove the antenna trim ring from the outside and pull the antenna out.

I suspect the biggest issue will be the replacement part, commonly these antennas are several hundred dollars, many people install a flexible aftermarket antennas available at most parts stores in it's place to save money, so that would be another possible option for you.
