Hi deputyshire,
If you had a
good
reason for not showing up, you may be able to get an Order to Show Cause to have the default judgment vacated.
Judgment holders will usually
not
allow the debtor (you in this case) to pay less than what they can legally get, unless they think the debtor will file for bankruptcy protection if they will not work with you. This is because if the debtor files for bankruptcy, the judgment holder gets
nothing
at all.
