Question

How do I replace/reinstall the Friction Sleeve on a Whirlpool GU2500XTP? It broke and fell out on the left side of the door. Replacement parts are under $5.00 but so far I have found no instructions on reinstalling it.

It is part # 941116 at RepairClinic.com (for a Whirlpool GU2500XTPQ6.

The friction pad slides over the arm of the hinge to prevent noise while opening & closing the door. We do not have this model here so I am not able to provide you with an actual diagram. In the parts image you can see the arm of the hinge with the pad out in front. Just release the door spring & slide the pad in place.
