Question

I have been having sex with my new partner for a few months now. We both have been tested for STDs and came back negative. A few days ago we had sex, and afterwards I was so sore. After we were finished I had a really bad burning sensation in my vagina. I usually have some soreness but it has been 3 days now and the pain has only gotten worse. It burns when I pee, and it is so sensitive and sore when I walk around. Usually when I have been done with sex the pain subsides in a few hours. We sometimes have rough sex, and we have had sex 3-4 times in the last week so I keep hoping it is just because I have a problem with the friction or possibly tearing. I have inspected down there and everything looks okay, and I havent had any discharge or unusual looking stuff going on down there....just VERY bad burning....whats wrong with me?

Accepted Answer

This burning sensation & pain or discomfort is most likely because oflack of lubrication, vaginal dryness, vaginal infections, vulvitis(inflammation of the vulva (the opening to the vagina).

A pelvic exam is critical to rule out any uterine abnormality, a cervical polyp or fibroid, or a uterine infection.Lack of lubrication & so rough sex is very common cause. If there is lack of lubrication, then use lubricant-K-Y Jelly or AstroGlide.Take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen 400mg from your counter. It will reduce the inflammation & pain. This is available without prescription
The exact diagnosis can only be made after physical examination. If it is not relieved by even after lubrication, then, make an appointment with your doctor.
