Hi XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Digging up your lawn is unavoidable when installing an irrigation system. A consciencious contractor will, however, restore your lawn to essentially the same condition it was in before they started. It is more time consuming to preserve the sod that is disturbed when running the irrigation lines but it is part of a quality install. Some damage is unavoidable but it should be minimal. This is one reason some contractors are more expensive than others. In any event your lawn can be restored within a few months.
