Question

I HAVE A WALK-IN SHOWER (5BY4). IT HAS 2 INCH SQUARE WHITE TILES, WHITE GROUT. WE BUILT THE HOUSE IN 1994. WE HAVE HAD A SEVERE PROBLEM WITH MILDEW IN THE GROUT. MY NEPHEW IS REMOVING THE GROUT. WHAT TYPE OF GROUT DO YOU RECOMMEND? ALSO, IS THERE A MILDEW RESISTANT GROUT? IS THERE A SEALER THAT WOULD WORK AND HOW LONG SHOULD WE WAIT TO APPLY IT?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THESE QUESTIONS.

<p>If the grout is is good shape except fro having mildew on it, there is no reason to remove the grout. Sorry to say there is no grout that will not mildew. Answer

Please click here for more information on types of grout. . Epoxy grouts are the least effected by mildew but are difficult to apply, and can be quite messy during application. If you choose Epoxy grout be sure to hire a contractor who is skilled with epoxy grout installations. Epoxy grouts require no additional sealer

Answer

Sealers can be applied to normal grout as soon as the grout is dry.
