Question

I have an electronic parking break on an 07 VW passatt. The parking break got stuck yesterday: at first it would not go on and then when I got it on it would not switch off. The display computer said 'parking brake malfunction' when this happened, but it is no longer saying this.

Do you know what might have caused this?

Your reply was too late for me. I took the car to a VW dealer who told me it was an intermittant fault and needed a new switch.
