The driver side mirror is heated, memory type and it also folds electronically. There is one bolt to remove the mirror from the inside: however, the coupling for the wiring appears to be buried in the door panel. Do I need to remove the door panel and if so, how?

Answer

The answer to your question is yes. You do need to remove the door panel to access the wiring for the mirror controls.

HOw do I remove the door panel?

Answer

There are several push pins around the door, that get pushed in slightly. This will release these clips. The speaker cover must come off as well. Lastly there are 2 screws behind the door pull handle. This cover is a bear to get off, and there is no way to easily describe it....

other than just trying to separate the 2 plastic halves.... from the bottom side i guess would be least obvious.
