Question

Ive recently found a white bump inside my vagina. I caught herpes off a previous parnter i was with of 4years so there was no getting away from it really. I take tablets if i have a breakout.

I know what the herpes look like and mine are very mild, couple red dots. I have been dating somebody new but when i first slept with him couple days/ 3days later i was icthy and alittle sore ..... i know have noticed a white bump that is sore just noticable inside the entrance to my vagina........... hate talking about this but theres knowwhere open due to bank holiday and im pretty worried as its not the ususal looking red bump i get if i have an out break. I have only had this virus for a year now but the spot had never appeared like that. Could it be from the guy i had slept with? and what do u think it sounds like? ..... please help.

Thanks

I was itchy after i had slept with this guy i am seeing yes. I woke up couple of days after and yes i had flu like symtoms but only for that morning, i slept through that day though because i felt really low. I have tablets for herpes but like i said i know what they look like, and i have tablets that keep me from coming out in herpes. What i have come out in after i had sexual intercourse with this guy is something different to what i know, the bump is very painful, painful when i go toilet and if i touch it, cant have sex without it being very painful. At the moment there is no discharge but it was very watery down there yesterday morning. There doesnt seem to be major difference in the border now apart from the white bump but wednesday and thursday after sex my lips were very very swollen and sore nothing i have experienced after sexual inercourse, it seems as though i caught an infection in my vagina lips but it has gone down now.

Where the white bump is ?............ its just inside through the vagina opening , just inside the hymen .

Yes when i contracted the herpes i was tested for everything and i was all clear. I had a boyfriend i was with for 4yrs and knew there was a chance i would catch it and i was givin tablets to take twice a day for it not to reaccur after i had my first ever out break.

Tuesday i had sexual intercourse with this guy, wednesday i was swollen and icthy, thursday i woke up in the morning with the shivers, glands swollen and very weak. Friday i had a headache all day. The white bump i noticed friday because i wanted to see what was hurting so much down there.

Ive never had or seen this white bump before, it looks abit like a white olcur u would normally see in your mouth if you were run down or caught germs but just it is in my vagina opening. Thats all i can explain really. It really hurts and im worried.

Hello; Thank you for responding. At this point, based on the information you have presented, I would suspect this is some type of bacterial infection, not necessarily an STD. You are at risk given your history of sex with a new partner; however, you do not necessarily trigger for a specific STD. I'll explain. The sore is painful, and likely not herpes, considering your antiviral maintenance therapy. If the sore were non-painful, this would be suspicious of things like warts or primary syphilis. The bump you describe would be more consistent with secondary syphilis; however, this takes several months to develop, and you tested negative. As for syphilis anyway, this would usually manifest 10 days to 2 weeks later anyway. Also, you are not having any vaginal discharge, which is good news. I suspect the friction of sex may have caused some tiny breaks in the skin and possible bacterial infection. Also, since you had some burning with urination, you should consider possible urinary tract infection, which could explain some of the symptoms. At any rate, you should see your provider for an evaluation and culture of the sore. If this is a bacterial infection, your provider will likely treat this with antibiotic. You should also be screened for HIV, since this is a new partner. I do want to mention that some of your constitutional symptoms (shivers, fatigue, and swollen glands) are symptoms associated with initial HIV infection; however, this is not usually associated with the genital itching, burning, and sores initially. Also, remember these symptoms can be caused by bacterial infections too---which would be more consistent with the information you provided. I hope this helps. If you have additional questions or concerns, please let me know. Lisa
