Hi,

What kind of connection /cables are you using between the dvd/vcr combo and the tv?

Thank you

Three slide-in cables from DVD/VCR Combo to HDtTV and two slide-in cables for sound from DVD/VCR Combo to HDTV.

Hi,

Ok,then you are trying to use the component input connection+ audio cable

The component connections is actually three cables,Y,Pb,and Pr-this means one is luminance only, component red and component blue.

The mistake you are making is the component cable is most likely hooked up into composite signal. The green cable is the Y (luminance) is supposed to go into the green connector of component in,then blue to blue and red to red,on the same component input. If the green cable is hooked up into the yellow input(composite video) it will work, but the picture will be black and white since the green cable carry only luminance information(no color).

See picture bellow for the correct connection via component cable:

Now,please note,if the cables are hooked up correctly, please check the dvd/combo owners manual-some devices are using the same output connections, for both-composite or component signals, and the switching between the two is made in the unit's menu!

I hope this helps,

Thank you,and have a great day!

My problem is now fixed. The cables were not correctly connected to the Dvd/VCR Combo.
