I can't get the rotor assebly off the truck. I need to get them turned

Answer

Hi, those rotors are made to be turned with an "on car" brake machine since they will not fit on a typical bench lathe. I dont believe any adapters have been made to enable them to be turned off of the vehicle. I assume you are having a pulsation problem? If so try to find a local shop with an on car lathe and of course most all Gm dealers have the machine because it was an essential tool. Let me know if i can help you further. Thanks, ERic

My inside rotors are showing a raised ring about 1 inch toward the center. the outside part is perfect. No pulsation just some sqeeking

Accepted Answer

Well if the pads are worn out, i would suggest just cleaning the rotors up with some spray brake clean real good, and install new pads. The squeaking may just be coming from excessive brake dust built up. If the pads still look thick enough, just pop off the caliper and clean it all up with brake clean and try that. The raised portion of the rotor is not a big concern unless you have pulsation, since you dont. I would try to clean it up and replace pads if necessary. Let me know if i can help you further. Please click on accept. Thanks, Eric
