just had a new starter put on a 1995 325i last week. It has ran fine for 4-5 days. Today it turns over but rpms jump all around, then backfires and killls. Any Advice

Answer

Hi, have you checked the hose that feeds off the bottom of the larger intake boot? This can pop off there, also the hose that'a shaped like a hockey stick under the intake can pop loose off the idle valve, and cause issues like you describe.

These are in the area of the starter, and could have been knocked loose while you were in there.
