Question

Have a HEIL compressor AC Unit and it does not come on. After investigation found the transformer next to it charred and not able to read the info on it. The MF # H73843462, the ser # 39HD80888 and the compressor rating from the label is; 230V 60 HZ. Can you please provide the transformer info to replace and a wire diagram to connect it properly.

Hi Kirk, you sure it is a transformer or a contactor?

Reply

It is the transformer that is charred , the contactor appears fine. The contactor measured the voltage difference, but was not contacting because the transformer did not activate it. The correct MF # is H73843462, not the one that shows above under the optional information.

R/

Kirk A.

I am having trouble with that model number. Is this a package unit all in one out side?

this unit is only the condensor outside, the heat is inside the same unit with the air handler. I also provided the serial number above 39HD980888, can you find anything under that? the transformer takes 230V 60HZ on one side I don't know the output on the other side. The transformer has four wires; blue, red on one side and black and brown on the other side.

Gosh Kirk I usually have much better luck than I am having with locating the spec for the unit. I will opt out to open this question up so everyone can have a look. I apologize for the wait.

SHOULD I WAIT FOR OTHER PEOPLE TO ANSWER? or can you at least find a wiring diagram that shows the transformer in relation to the contactor for the compressor and fan and the air handler side thermostat.
