Question
I have a 2002 VW Jetta 1.8T wagon. It was on it's way to get a few routine things done when the car overheated. It was towed to the dealer where it was said that water pump failed...impeller off of the shaft. OK. Replaced pump and when it was taken out to be tested...overheated again. Got a call that both of the engine fans are also failed. Is it strange to think that all of this could happen at the same time? I feel like I am being taken advantage of and want to know if anyone has heard all three of these things failing at the same time is likely.

Answer
well the cooling fans are not important unless the car is standing still. Sometimes when you over heat motor you will warp the head. In this case, with water pump going out... causing heads to overheat and probably warp, even if you fix pump doen't mean that the heads still fine. I suggest a compression or leak down test to make sure. To answer your question, Yes they all can fail at same time or seem to be same time.
