Question

My drivers side rear window will not go up ive put a volt meter across the inputs to the regulator in the door and get 12volts up and down the regulator works perfectly on my wifes car [also a v70 2003 any ideas im baffled Andy

So to clarify - you're getting 12V to the window motor, but it's not moving?

Yes - it moves in one direction - down. I've tested the motor against our other Volvo (exactly the same make, model & year) and it works.

All the switches have been tried & tested in our other car & work.

Ok, so we know the switches and motor are good from swap testing. If all the wiring an connections are good, I would suspect the up relay to be the failure on this one. I've attached an image below for you to locate it. Try swap testing this with your wife's car and I'm betting this will reslove the problem for you. If you have any other questions, please let me know.
