Hi Gene
Is he able to urinate?
What is his usual food?
did he have anything new?
Indoor kitty?
Thanks,
Terri
HE IS BOTH AN INSIDE AND OUTSIDE, USUALLY MORE OUTSIDE IN THE SUMMER, SAME IN THE WINTER JUST MORE INSIDE WHEN IT GETS COLD.
AS FAR AS I KNOW HE IS, ITS HARD TO CATCH HIM URINATING ALTHOUGH HE LOOKS THE SAME WHEN HE GOES POOP ALSO TO ME. I'M NOT THAT UP ON CATS NORMALLY.
USUAL FOOD IS PURINA DRY CAT FOOD, WITH A SIDE OF DRY CAT TREATS, SOMETIMES EATS MORE OF THOSE THAN THE PURINA, BUT NORMALLY LATELY HE EATS MORE O F THE CAT FOOD ITSELF.
I HAD BOUGHT A SIX PACK OF CANNED BEEF N GRAVY MEOW MIX, AND HE LOVES IT, HE HAS EATEN SAY TWO CANS LAST WEEK AND TWO THIS WEEK.
LIKE JUST NOW, HE ATE GOOD, NO CANNED FOOD, GOT A LONG DRINK OF WATER AND WENT BACK TO THE BEDROOM TO WHERE USUALLY HE WOULD BE OUTSIDE WITH MY OTHER CAT. BOTH MALES.
NOW I HAVE NOTICED ODIE MY OTHER CAT BEING FORWARD TO ALLIE AND TRYING TO MOUNT HIM LIKE A FEMALE CAT, BITING HIM ON THE NECK AND MEOWING LOUDLY AT HIM, BUT ALLIE JUST USUALLY LAYS THERE AND ODIE DOESNT PROCEED WITH ANY FURTHER ACTION, JUST USUALLY TO SHOW DOMINANCE I THINK....
Dear Gene,
I a sorry Allie is not feeling well. Odie is just being dominant with this "mounting" behavior. He may sense weakness in Allie.
Diarrhea is the bodies way to rid itself of something it perceives as "bad".
Allie may have eaten something outside or his food may be tainted. He may also have parasites:

Cats cannot take human OTC's. Get a box of infant rice cereal and add a tablespoon to either canned cat food or baby meat food with no onion or garlic.
human baby food in meat flavours (check that there are no onions or garlic in the ingredients) and mix that with warm water and offer that, or syringe it in little bits into your cat's mouth. Beech Nut makes a line of baby food that has nothing but meat (beef, chicken, turkey or veal) in it. Here's a link: http://www.beechnut.com/Our%20Baby%20Food/Results.asp If you cannot find this, you could find another meat baby food - just read the label carefully to be sure there are no onions, onion powder, garlic, or garlic powder in it.
.
Offer him tuna or salmon water to keep him well hydrated. He can also have plain pedialyte (sold in the baby dept).
Please let me knoiw how he is doing, I hope your boy is better very soon.
Best wishes for him,
